My 95 v6 came with the cd300 single disc unit as standard. The other day i found the changer connector taped up behind the fuse box,so got a changer loom (from boot to connector) to fit one of my spare sc804 units and a dc012 changer.
Problem is (I think) the sc804 needs to work through the philips amp doesnt it? the car does not have this and does not have the wiring in the footwell connector to be able to use the amp wiring thats in the changer loom.
am I stuffed? I can get the amp from somewhere but if the wiring running from footwell to back of headunit isnt there then it sems pointless.
:-?

not all just the ones in the elites ! :y

ahh, my spare headunits came from an elite and cdx both of which had the philips amp, (never thought to keep the amp) doh!! >:(

ok, I tired the sc804 anyways and... it works :)
so went to connect the changer loom and come accross another hurdle, the pins dont match up. is the changer loom for a different changer model? or maybe different age of car? eeek :'(

I think that you may have the loom for the DC022 which has a different plug from DC012 (Round not square)

the changer end of the lead was the right shape and had the right no. of pins, just the car end that doesnt match. Currently got a friend on ere looking for another loom to compare for me.
cheers ;)

Is the loom with amp different to the loom without amp perhaps???
-
the speaker wires should be the only difference, the changer wiring should be the same, but who knows with vaux, changed wiring more times than I change my boxers.
looks like Ill have to take the kick panel off of one of the cdx's and see what kind of connections are on them as they are both running the same setup but WITH amp.
