Picked up my replacement CCRT 2008 and plugged it into my Omega today. Unfortunately I get a SAFE message which comes on and off in between the normal display. There is no sound though, tried a cassette as well.
I have the radio code which is 7269 and the serial number which is GM020811065346. There was no option to input the code however.
Tried holding down the AS button, but did nothing. Does this mean it needs Tech 2 decoding?
Many thanks.

Try turning off the radio, then with AS button pressed in turn the radio back on, keeping the button held in until you receive a confirmatory "bleep". ;) ;)
You should then be able to enter your code using 1 to 4 buttons each being depressed for individual numbers. i.e button "1" press eight times, then to button "2" three times (the first press gives "0" if I remember correctly), and so on. ;) ;)

Thank you for that, I shall give it go in the morning. Completely knacked at the moment following yesterdays flight back to Qatar. If anyones interested it is possible to carry a CCRT 2008 in a suitcase on a flight.

Happy New Year! ;) ;)

Happy New Year to all!
Right, got the unit to switch on. When turned on it first says PROGRAM, you can switch between radio, CD and tape, but there is no sound. :'( Don't suppose there is a quick fix for this?

Happy New Year! :D ;)
Sorry, something I left out of my previous instructions :-[;
once you have entered the code as described you need to depress the "AS" again and keep pushed in until a "beep" sounds and your radio etc should work. ::)
I hope it does anyway. If not there must be another problem, like the speaker wires connector at the rear of the radio has not been fitted correctly or is incompatible with the new unit, but I hope somebody else will have an answer to that for you. 8-) 8-)

PROGRAM concerns me, wonder if its missing its code index programming...
-
Sounds a bit scarey if you're concerned.
It can fast forward tapes and the radio tunes in and the CD appears to work as well. It only says PROGRAM when you first turn it on, and then goes. It seems OK apart from there is no sound.

Sorry what is code index programming?

Configuration basically.

Thanks. Do you know if the code index progamming can be fixed by a dealer? or does it have to go back to Phillips?
