I used to, but found the quality wasn't as good as the FM ones. But for a cheap and cheerful intermittent use of gayPod or similar MP3 player, it will work

Exactly, I'm not using it all the time, so just needed a quick cheap fix... It's not too bad tho tbh, works well enough!

Back in the days when we used to do the south of France trips, I used to plug my iPaq in via cassette adapter, so I had tunes and satnav through stereo. It works, though for more permenent, I'd go for FM

Certainly wouldn`t use FM modulators when these are readily available

Yep !!
Basically a small 60W amp with an aux input (or leads for whatever is connecting up) and in inline ISO plug to make installation a doddle.

I would imagine that your van stereo had something a little better than the piece of junk fitted to Omega`s !!
-
dave , i take it your not that impressed with the kit even if its got bose written on it ;D ;D
-
I am not impressed with the standard Kit, No,
But even less impressed with anything that has BOSE on it.
-
Incidentally, the link to the IQ player I gave earlier will NOT work with the truly awful BOSE system.

aux in is mono, and designed for phone etc.

Arse!
Thanks though, i would have bought one not knowing. Fm thingy it is them, although i got a cheapo one from a garage once. It was pants, but i guess you get what you pay for.

is it possible to have line inputs on the back of the facelift heads?
octavia vrs' have a line input in the centre armrest but wondered if something similar to the back of the facia was possible such as ccr2006

Many cars built after 2004/2005 have an aux in. The Omega's HU's don't have a good enough input, its purely lo-fi mono for phone.

ok then thanks TB
