Title: CID black connector
Post by: TheBoy on 12 November 2008, 22:23:26
Is it used elsewhere on the Omega - I need to source one, but am struggling to get one...

Do you mean the socket on the CID or the plug on the cable? It almost looks like an IDC type connector but with a locking mechanism to me.  :-/

eGay.de might be the easiest source.

It is a simple IDC connector with a locking cage round it (made by AMP I think).

I just make the connectors up from an IDC connector, soldering and heatshrink plus some epoxxy to protect the weak joint and pin area.

They were used on the CDC3 connection on the Vectra I think....

Apparently a Vectra CD-Changer-cable P/N 9196108 had the correct connector

CDC3 connector is different, would have to cut off locking tab toy get it to fit.

MDTM - Does Mrs DTM's one stay in OK?

Christ yes, the insertion force on this setup seems very high and hence it goes no-where!

Thanks.  Just the tractor does have more vibration, wouldn't want to be pulling dash apart all the time to pop it back in.

Cheers :y

I'll probably put the GID in it initially - based on the fact I haven't got a working CID ;D - but makes sense to put extra connector on when I make the adapter...   ....which reminds me, I need to source another 36way TM loom I think

hi, I might have a make it your self connector in the car - the same black one which runs the colour info to the display.  its a blank connector with a pack of pins - it fits - but there's no locking connector on it.

I'll check the back of the car today and come back if i find it, don't remember throwing it away.
