hace seen advertised , the blue led side light bulbs, for the headlights,
has anyone fitted these, and are they legal
-
No forward facing blue lights are legal on cars.
generally sold for show use only.
I have white led sidelights, but only to nearer match the HID colour, would prefer xenon filled sidelight bulbs, but they aint cheap.
-
i have fitted police dont like them ask you to change them but never had a ticket :y
-
Not legal for cars other than emergency services to show blue light full stop.
.. cue TheBoy with another reason why you shouldn't do it. :-X

try living in Torbay !! Lucky if you get to the end of your drive without being stopped for things like this.
LED lighting and tinted side windows are an absolute target around here.

Same in most seaside towns that I know in the South East. :D

Sadly Lizzie, its all the year round, but then thats probably something to do with the huge Metropolitan Police training Centre in Exeter / Middlemoor being only a few miles up the road.

But your roads during the summer are bumper to bumper with stationary 'Grockles' and nobody moves anywhere! :y :y

Fitted similar to these in my Primera, which had HID. The original bulbs (sidelight) looked yellow compared to the main headlights.
Didn't make them look much brighter that you could tell really.

LOL !
But thats good for the Police, they can sit on a deck chair by the side of the road and slowly write a ticket for everybody that trundles past !
That way they can ticket everybody without any effort whatsoever.

lol well when i was driving my 2.0 i got pulled quite a few times at home...
anyway i think the reason is because im only 20 and i dont look my age! lol
-
i've got the blue sidelights an not been pulled,an they're in the ex plod car
-
every time i get pulled over the filth used to look at my blue LED side lights and go bloody hell theyre bright and that was all that was said lol
anyway the police can do you for impersonating a police vehicle if they want to be awkward!
i removed myn as i have other wigwag gadgets and dont wanna draw attention to the car!

Why not just put the White Xenon LED Sidelights in, I have them in mine and they look way better than boy racer blue in my oppinion.

I also replaced all interior and door lights with them too (except the dimming interior lights). Need different type for door and rear interior lights though.

On the Alfa I had previously when I put LED sidelights in the 'Bulb Blown' warning came on all the time.
Does the Omega monitor the sidelights?
-
I don't get a warning light, so I guess it doesn't
-
Tried them all but these are the brightest yet and no bulb failure warnings.

Yes Dave you are right! But I remember when I was young (yes I can still remember that time! :D) I was driving my A40 down in Eastbourne 'out of season' with loads of police floating around with nothing to do as all the holiday makers (well, apart from my three friends and I) had gone home.
A bitch of a PC cruising along passes me, and promptly does a U turn. She eventually stops me (after being immersed in my blue exhaust smoke a few time; 1 gallon of oil being burnt with each 10 gallons of petrol - valve seals / piston rings shot! :D) and her attitude was appalling.
She was raising her voice, trying to find every fault with me and my car she could all a very nasty manner. Anyway her colleague and her found nothing at fault. In those days she could only comment about the smoke, to which I said "is there smoke....??!!", and the physical holes in the doors, wings, roof, floor could not be faulted as long as I had an MOT, which I of course did although the body and chassis was held together by newspaper and filler...another story!! ;D ;D ;).
Anyway she eventually gave up in the end and told me to be on my way. As she walked back to her car, my female friend from South London shouted "f'cking cow!", but thank God the officer either didn't hear or had given up trying to find fault!! ;D ;D
Oh happy days in Eastbourne!! :D :D :D
-
I have these in my sidelights, white light, much better than standard.
Got an MOT booked next week, hope they don't get me a fail ticket.
