Title: Blown fuse ?
Post by: Ralph on 17 January 2009, 16:06:24
Hi All,

My door sill & rear courtesy lamps have stopped working, the owners manual lists fuses 12 & 20 but all of the other items listed for these are still working.
I've had all of the fuses out but none of them look blown.
Any ideas ?

do they work when you open the passenger front door? if so then it could be a duff door pin switch.

another test to see if the rear ones work is to open each pack door seperately, the corresponding light in the grab handle should light up.

if not, then I would re-check the fuses being carefull not to pull out the stereo one unless you have the code and know how to re-enter it.

cheers

No the door switches still operate.the front courtesey light but nothing else.
I'll have a look through the fuses again tomorrow in daylight.

I have had exactly the same problem and have checked everything I can think of. The only thing I was wondering was whether the timer which shuts off the interior or boot lights after a period of time to avoid draining the battery was faulty and if so, where it is?

Having checked the fuse number on the owners manual on here, I found it's different to the one in my manual.

Fuse 7, didn't appear blown, but a new fuse cured the problem.

Hi - just updating on my post from yesterday - on my facelift 2.2 petrol I have found that Fuse 7 actually controls these lights. As soon as I replaced it - it had blown for n apparent reason - everything worked fine.

Thanks to all the guys in ICE and Omega Electrical Forum - No Internal Lighting who solved the problem for me.

Best update your operating manual supplied with the car as mine, like everyone else's, showed it as controlling electric windows, which it patently didn't. Wonder what else this fuse controls?
