I'm not having any problems with the car, starts and runs fine, but I did a paperclip test anyway and got the fault code 19 - Incorrect RPM signal. I get this both with the engine running and not, although the engine was cold. The car's done just under 90k miles.
Having looked about on here it appears I might be about to have a problem with my crank sensor. Any thoughts /ideas? How much of a pain in the backside is this job to do for a novice?

Ive had this code on my elite for 4 years, I only get it when I do the paperclip test tho, if I use my reader I dont get it. :-?
-
I wasn't worried about it until I looked on here :-?
Sounds like I might be able to get away with it for a while longer then... :)

i wouldnt go by what ive said, my elite is a whole differnt ball game, it plays mind games.
for your own peace of mind and to save a major imbarassment of breaking down on a roundabout or something, change the sensor. not expensive. :y

It a fairly simple job? I'm a bit, well a total, novice really! I've read the guide and it seems alright.
Don't suppose you know a ball park figure for the parts cost?
-
Sorry no idea on cost as my local place usually add on a few quid on top of everything out of greed.
All I know is when you refit the new one, you re-route the wire so that it doesnt get cooked by the manifold. having not physically done it I cant advise further, but It cant be impossible as plenty ppl on here do their own. ;)

Cool... I've re-read it again and it doesn't sound too bad... I was going to the dealership tomorrow for some bulbs for my climate control anyway... :)
