Title: Pressure switch
Post by: Techno on 28 January 2009, 16:12:51
Does anybody know where the low pressure switch/sensor is on the aircon system?

On A/C pipe near rad.  The switch itself is pretty reliable, far more likely to be a (lack of) refridgerant problem

Ok, its bloody odd I only had it re-gassed in Oct and it packed up by Dec.

I've checked the whole system (that I can see) and there is no trace of dye anywhere  >:(

The guy pressure checked the system for about an hour and there was no loss, he said if was was a leak it would have showed up in that time by a slight pressure drop.

I'm really not going to waste another call out fee until I've made sure the switch is working.  I suppose it could be the clutch how can I test this or loop it so it should run?

Bloody annoying £70 possibly wasted  >:(

Live data, iirc, can tell you if its over pressure or under pressure (I'd need to double check).

I'll wager a pound its got a leak...

The condensor is the 'radiator' infront of the main cooling rad.

I've checked it and I can't find any dye traces?

I thought the dye they put in was UV sensitive - i.e. will only show up under a UV light..?  Half a chance that all the recent wet weather has washed it all off by now..
