Title: Alarm!!

Power sounder has been disconected as the smoke coming out of the bonnet was putting me off driving!!   8-)

However now the alarm has decided to 'go off' at random times.  Only when the car is locked mind!

Is there a way to find any fault codes for the alarm?

Or how can I find out what is causing it to go off?

It's an oldish 2 litre CDX.

codes can be read that would say why alarm going off, but worth checking bonnet switch first

A bloke I know has a similar problem....
you open the car put the key into the ignition and the alarm ges off until you turn the engine on then it turns off.. he also says the alarm goes off when driving along???

I disconnected the bonnet switch and yet it still went off :-?
Also disconnected the Sounder and still it does the same?? :-?

mines been going off on start up, also coincided with slow sounding starter, suspected flat/low battery. Re charged over night. Starter sounds stronger, alarm not gone off since. If battery voltage drops to a point maybe the alarm thinks the battery is disconnected or being disconnected.
Thats my theory anyway. Maybe?

This blokes car always starts fine though... I will check the voltage of his battery then..

my black cdx plays up every now and again, unlock car, ignotion on, power sounder wails, stops when I start the car, ever since I removed the battery to charge it. at least my neighbours know when im going out..  ;D

Come to think of it I think he mentioned he had a new battery on :o

Why would it do that though after fitting a new battery??

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you guys!!

Bad week so far!!

Thank's for the suggestions.  Will take a look at the bonnet switch as it has had a fair bit of work done on it recently under there!!
