Title: Radio problem
Post by: Greg2041 on 25 September 2008, 10:03:52
Not sure what the model is but my all singing all dancing phone, radio, CD player suddenly displayed the message error 10 on the dash display and then completely conked out.  Nothing.  Not a thing and it conked out on the M25 whilst are started my 5 hour journey!

Everything else on the car works including the inbuilt Sat Nav.

Any suggestions for a non-tech nical guy?

Cheers

Greg

Which radio model?

If its the CCRT700 (with built in phone) is the detachable switch panel inserted fully with clean contacts?

Yup that's the one.  Contacts seem okay.  Could it be a fuse in the rear so to speak?

I`d remove it for a few hours, let it discharge and reset itself, refit it, enter the code number and you will probably find that it may have reset itself - they usually do !!

There are a few software bugs in the CRT700 that never got fixed, and rebooting them is usually the way forward.

Fixed.  I took it to a vauxhall dealer who owed me a favour (not the dealer I've been having problems with).

The problem, well the problem dealer replaced the dash and on replacing the radio, must have been the pins. Sorted in 10 minutes by Underwoods at Clacton.

Thanks for all the advice.
