Title: Indicator / Alarm has a mind of its own!
Post by: Ian_D on 07 April 2009, 11:58:51
When I lock / Unlock the car, only the N/S bulbs flash  :-?

That’s not too important, but now, they flash for a second, and then remain on (sometimes go off after a few mins, other times it can take 30-40 mins). I have to lock/unlock the car a few times to get them to go off, or pull out a fuse (cant remember which one, but its 20a – 17 rings a bell??).

The car will indicate right fine, but if I indicate left, they light up but don’t flash???

Sounds a bit like a sticking relay, but which one, and where its it!  :-/ Or is it the alarm box having a tantrum? >:(

Tried that, still no joy  :-/

Its just the left indicators which stay on, regardless of the indicator stalk position. If i indicate right, the left ones stay on solid, and the right ones flash.

If I put the hazards on when the left indicator is lit up solid, the right side come on solid too ?

Only way to fix it is to lock / unlock the car a few times until the left side lights go out!  :o

Any ideas?

I thought we'd had this on the forum before, and decided that it was a relay sticking/stuck in the alarm .... :-/

Not sure Andy...

Anyway, its still doing it, and this morning when I went out to it, the battery only JUST had enough power to start the TD.

I got the light to go out by fiddling locking/unlocking it. Got 3-4 mins from home and it came back on >:( So went back for the petrol Omega and ditched the TD one on the drive  >:(
