I tryed to get them to do a full feature on my pre-facelift and kev's facelift omega's as they are both 3.0 V6's, star silver and both fitted with the full Irmscher bodykit but that's all we got :(

I have a subscripsion, so omega's or not I still get it, but it does annoy me that's it full of corsa's, astra's & vectra's etc when there are a lot of good omega's out there!!!!!!!!!

I did not renew my subscription when it ran out last year, in some part due to the fact that they rarely feature omegas, and when I put in a query, it took a year to come up with the reply, and quoted the wrong name >:(

I subscribed to the mag 2 years before the Forum came about, and was not a member anywhere else. They would prefer you spend 1000's on interior non standard mods to bling it more before they will piotentially do an article full spread, but then that's just my view :-/

Too true. It's nice to see a good, clean standard car in a mag, or even just a few subtle mods..

But could you imagine their normal reader ship getting excited over the Irmsher equipped cars, or the LPG converted set.

Basicaly we have to make them realise that a 2.0 4cl is not the ultimate and you are better off with a 6.

I think from tomorrow we should hit them with lots of emails asking to feature more omega's, and see if that works :y

Funnily enough, I emailed them a link to this thread on Monday night. I got a response yesterday but couldn't get on for some reason last night.

When I get home I'll copy and paste the email response here, it was quite informative.

The bones of it were that they haven't had any submissions from Omega owners. They would be only too pleased to do a feature if a suitable project was made known to them.

Maybe an invite to the forthcoming cambelt party would be something they'd be interested in? This may focus more on OOF than Omegas in general and could be a good boost for the forum.

OK, here's the email I received yesterday from Total Vauxhall Magazine. It was in response to my email to them pointing them to this thread.

Hello Martin,

Thanks for the feedback.

In terms of Omegas, as far as we are aware nobody really does anything with them in terms of performance. They're great cars, but people tend to leave them standard. We've yet to see anyone do something (this is just an example) along the lines of building a modified Volvo 850 R competitor, which would surely be far superior, considering the Omega is RWD.

We were keen to do a rolling road day with the Omega Owners but from what I remember people weren't particularly keen and nothing came of it.

We're always looking for new technical features so if there was a step by step guide for the Omega you think would be worthwhile doing then we'd be interested in looking in to it.

I personally liked the Irmscher Omegas but was unable to get them a full feature. Perhaps if I got some new pics I could try again? Nobody else has sent in an Omega since the yellow Pick-up in Jan 07.

Hope this is of some help, we want to ensure we cover as large a variety of cars as possible.

All the best

Dougie
