Hi all
Before I prattle on and you all wonder what the heck I'm on about, checkout the thread in the newbies section and all will become clear.
Here's the link:

Some of the best logo designs are the simple ones. They don't get any more simple than the Nike logo. The popular Swoosh logo is a graphic design created by Carolyn Davidson in 1971 for $35!!

So how about you coming up with some ideas for a logo for the Omega Owners Forum? Just a bit of fun and the winner will have the great satisfaction of seeing his/her creation on forum merchandise :y
I haven't created many logos but I have produced a few shirts for various car clubs and forums and it's great when you spot one at a show.
So, that's about it really. If you need any help or whatever, just drop me a PM.
Cheers
John

I've a feeling we did something simelar, maybe for the fliers?
-
Correct.
This, however, is for something different that can be embroidered onto any clothing etc. See the pics of previous work done here (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1201250204/13#13).

The logos look good on the other thread, i would deffo be up for 6 polo shirts with the forum logo on it, what that may be if its decided.
Its a shame that one could not be done with the omega car in it.
:y

I'll kick it off :)

Thats looks good, could the shape of the Omega be done, like the ones in the lemans logo.
-
Do you think the Vx Griffin could be included or would that bring up copyright issues.
-
How about the Irmsher car logo with Omega Owners Forum in the middle of it. I would try and show it if i knew how to :(
-
Piece of cake, give me a while and ill pop a few together for you..

Irmscher.....
agreed .. but since when have they been standard fit !!!!! :)
-
Yes can do an estate if I can find a good pic. Did the irmscher 1 as the normal bumper is a bit plain and hard to getany detail on.

I can get more detail in like this 1 I did a while ago:
But I don't know the limitations of the embroidery process.
-
Is that in vector format?

that is really cool, could it be done say silver on a black polo shirt?
-
Those are looking very good indeed, have we got an embroidery expert in the Forum now then?, I thought the original idea was for a silhouette similar to the irmscher logo, but more in the shape of an omega?, the detail on the car looks great but I'm not sure about the embroidery, however, these days they programme the design into the machine (this is what takes the time and tends to cost £50 set up), so it should be workable.

I just spent the last 20 minutes putting together a reply to answer many of the questions raised and when I clicked the Post button, I was informed I didn't have permission to post!!!
This is the error I get and it's happened several times :(
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v111/datasafe/Misc/Spoofing.jpg)
I was signed in too :(
-
I think I've discovered the reason I'm getting the above error.
Although I login for keeps or 24hrs, I seem to be getting signed out!! Just going from one page to another can result in me being signed out without me noticing :(
Anyone any ideas why this should be?
John

[size=12]Okay, just so you guys know where we're coming from :)
Just over 2 years ago I did a mad thing and bought an Ariel Atom! At my age (53 then) you'd have thought I would have known better! Anyway, 2 years on and I'm still loving it :) My partner Angie has a Zafira.
Prior to buying the Atom I joined the 'owner's club' just to get some help in spec'ing the car - if you can call it that! At this time there weren't many members on the Atomclub forum but it became clear there was a demand for Atom clothing - T-shirts, polo shirts, hats etc; etc.
Angie my partner works like a slave for M&S for crap pay! One of her hobbies is sewing - you know, darning my socks and pants and all that :) We thought there might be an opportunity to start a little embroidery business to fill the need for Atom clothing so to cut a long story short, we spent a fortune on an industrial embroidery machine and started producing hats, T-shirts, polo shirts and the like.
The learning curve for me especially, was huge! For the last two years and a bit, I've been learning the art of digitizing and producing patterns while Angie has been learning to use the machine. We're just planning to purchase a 2nd machine.
We knew we had to be different from the big boys out there and so we differ from them in several areas.
1. We will accept orders for ONE item.
2. We manually produce all our own patterns and get it right before we stitch.
3. We don't charge any setup fee or charge for producing the patterns.
4. We operate from our conservatory in our house.
5. We both enjoy doing it.
What all this means is that we can take on work that most won't and we take pride in what we produce. Most of our work comes by way of recommendation from satisfied customers.
Because I have a passion for cars, I really enjoy designing patterns for this market. Of course embroidery alone doesn't suit all requirements so we've also started doing decals and iron on cotton etc.
Our main aim is to get Angie out of her crap job at M&S so she can devote her time to embroidery and actually enjoy her days :)
So there you have it.
Cheers

Did anything become of this?
-
towbars on a logo probs would look out of place
althought they are usefull if your not towing aswell. If someone drives into your rear, or your reverse into someone else they get a big towbar shaped hole. No damage to you either

I don't think so but do let me know :)
