Here's a poser for you in the know.
I lock my car with the central locking and the alarm sets. If I double lock it (using the fob still) I guarantee that within a couple of hours the alarm goes off for no reason whatsoever.
It never goes off it I only single lock it.
Why? :-/ :-/

Try disconnecting the bonnet switch and see if it cures your problem.
My gut feeling is that the single / double locking may be purely co-incidental, and that the fault would be there no matter what you did.

Other thought is that you may have a faulty door solenoid that is not switching off fully when it goes to the deadlock position, and the current sense on the alarm may be picking this up?

I'd say dave is right with the bonnet switch it lives at the rear of the engine on the passengers side top cornerish area its a rubber stick that pokes up with a ribbed end ;)
unplug it and report that if its not that then it could be the powersounder failing there is a Howto for removing the powersounder in the maintenance section
