I have the exact same problem, front passenger side door light doesn't work, all the others do.

As LSG1 I have the same problem, except it is drivers side door light that doesn't work, all the others do. Door switch appears OK (interior light works) as does bulb/wiring in puddle light

I got caught out with diagnosing a door switch for a similar problem a few years ago on a Holden. When I pulled the switch out, it had two wires going to the rear of it, and the internals were for two seperate switches but inside one housing -

All I`m suggesting is not to rule out the door switch just because the interior light comes on, pull it out and have a look to see if it has more than one wire going to it, and if it does, then prod around with a meter just to be sure.

Remove the rubber boot from the door and the a-piller,and check for broken wires.Had an electrical problem with my vec,and turned out to be a broken wire in the boot, obviously the constant opening and closing of the door. :y

I've got an odd puddle light problem, sort this one then Andy !!

Open drivers door : puddle lights on both passenger door and drivers door, and interior light come on

Open Passenger door : puddle light on drivers door and interior light come on ... but NO passenger door light !!

So, bulb works as light comes on with drivers door.
door switch works as interior light and drivers door lights work

So why does the passenger door one only come on with the drivers door ??

If you can sort that there'll be some beer for you at Newent ..  :)

A stab in the dark but may be the same thing door switch on the passenger...Stick with me a min i'm thinking that when you open the passenger door that the switch mite cause a sort  :-/ :-/ stopping that light coming on or some thing along them lines. Agian have a check round with a meter and seeing as its only one screw holding it in swap it with the drivers side and see if it works the other way round. ;D ;D
(Bet you all think i'm mad but some times theres methord in madness or just plane stupidity :D :D)

That sounds like the classic symptoms of the broken cable that mark mv6  was describing earlier.
