1) How to test a coil pack?
2) Can a faulty alternator kill one?
3) Where can I get one from at an affordable price?
Thanks

Have a 2/4/6 coilpack you can borrow to prove the point if it helps.
Not sure how I would get it to you though? Drop it off at your work fri PM maybe?

I'll bring 1/3/5 as well.
The coils have some rust on them but they do both work.

Thanks :y :y

All is well mechanically
Getting 0300 0302 0304 0306
What wires do I need to check continuity on from coil pack to ECU?
Thanks

Pin 1 (Brown) to 0V
Pin 2 (Black/red) to 12V IGN (meter continuity to Pin2 on other coilpack as is common feed and other coilpack is OK).
Pin 3 (Blue/red) to ECU Pin14 (X85)
Pin 4 (Blue/white) to ECU Pin15 (X85)
Pin 5 (Blue/green) to ECU Pin16 (X85)
NB. Don't know if you've seen the M3.1.1 ECU connectors but they are a high density design.
