Title: Is the Omega Audio System "can bus" Type?
Post by: richardirv on 24 June 2009, 08:28:53
As title really. Don't really know what it means but just looking at a Headunit from a New Zafira and wondered if it would fit in the Mig.  ;)

AFAIK No. Some threads here before saying that you can not install CD30 etc to Omega.

Not a chance.  :'(

And for those of you with a bit of electronics knowledge who fancy a challenge, Not a chance.  :'(

The CD30 is a Full canbus stereo and integrates with canbus display, canbus audio, canbus controls and links to the engine management system of the post 2005 cars

 ;)

Some radios are a partial CAN system in Omegas, eg, ccrt700, ccrt2008, NCDC201x etc.  This is most definately not the same full canbus as fitted to Vectra-C, Astra-H, Zafira-B, or Corsa-D.

Never looked at Insignia, but guessing thats full CAN as well.

I have a feeling that most post 2004 Vx vehicles are all full CAN now, with the only exceptions being the few facelift vehicles like the astra etc of around that age.
