Title: TB's hand brake
Post by: Marks DTM Calib on 13 February 2008, 22:39:21
So, will it be acceptable this time!

This evening we stripped both sides, removed everything, cleaned and greased everything (with the exception of friction material!) set it all up and even wrote a number 11 on the road!

Is it worth getting them to check it the other way round in their rollers to see if the other side fails this time? ::)

Did you find anything conclusive, or just strip and reassemble?

Good luck :y

Many thanks again Mr DTM.  The handbrake has tried my patience, almost as much as the traffic on the way up.  Apologies if I was a bit grumpy last night  :-[

No, its OK, Loo Knee's count is actually bigger than anyone elses. It just the counter is only 16 bit, so it only goes up to 65,536, and then rolls over. But being Microslop software, it can't cope, so has put in the "-" sign to let you know its rolled over. So Loo Knee's count is actually 65,672, so he beats TB, and obviously should be a Moderator.

That's programming talk, that is !.

I love the search engines job agencies use, they have somehow managed to program the equivalent of closing ones eyes and sticking in a pin. With 30 years of electronics experience, I get offered jobs as Mechanical Designer, and even a B&CE technician. They insisted their software found a match, and the money was great (£67,000) so I looked into it. Its a Building and Civil Engineering Technician (in Iran), so what relevance that has to my career history, I have no idea !.

Marks_DTM wanted to bounce up a kerb to get a cat the other night, but I managed to stop him damaging your wheel.

Might need to keep hold of it for another few days until I've got some straight replacements  :-*

As a special treat, I put some air in it for you though....

It no longer looks like a hedgehog anymore......given the age of it the rubber will be well past its best anyway so TB is doing you a favour by ripping 3 mm off it.

Not sure if its crap (and old) Michelin rubber, 205 tyres, or higher profile, but it has done nothing to cure that understeer problem. Quite the opposite :o
