Title: CCR2005
Post by: Elite Pete on 01 September 2009, 15:08:03
I've got a CCR2005 in my facelift TD and want to make it sound better or maybe swap it over for a CCR 2006 if thats any better. I intend to fit a blind/rear parcel shelf so was considering some 6x9s but know nothing about ICE so any advice would be greatfully received.
TIA :y

ccr2006 does sound better than ccr2005.

Beyond that, you're looking Bose setup (with either CCR, CCRT or NCDC headunits) or aftermarket.  I know what road I'd go down, much to Dave DND's annoyance, but then I like the factory fit look, and I'm tight!

I agree. Is the wiring there like on the mini facelifts?

ccr2006 (non bose) is straight swap. Bose needs a bit of work getting wiring to kick panel ready for bose loom. Both CCRT and NCDC need some wiring mods and new displays.

Hmmm, might just opt for the CCR2006 then ::)

Can`t disagree with that upgrade   :y

And you would only annoy me if you chose to go down the awfull BOSE route.

Good realistic budget for speakers.

Will you be considering a small amp to run them from the OEM head unit, (look at Focal) or just looking to power them from the head unit directly? (look at clarion)

What size speakers do you need?

Probably just from the head unit, unless its quite easy to wire an amp in.

Our most popular entry level 17" component set that does not compromise on sound quality - ideal for running on a standard non-amplified head unit.
