Title: Is it the power sounder?
Post by: immx on 23 September 2009, 22:17:49
Hi Guys!

The alarm on my 2001 mig just keeps going off randomly! I'm guessing it may be the powersounder is that right?

1st port of call is the bonnet switch, check it's upright and catching the bonnet. Try disabling the interior sensors next by pressing the alarm button on the dash. If those don't make a difference then it's most likely the power sounder.

Thanks for that. I've already tried the interior sensors and they don't make a diffrence. I'll have a look at the bonnet switch in the morning. For now im just locking with the door button.

Ok, I tried the bonnet pin and thats all fine, so I whiped out the sounder.

I would like to replace / repair it, what is it that goes wrong with them, is it just the internal batts? if so I'll solder in some new ones.

TIA
