Apologies if this has been asked before, but is it possible to swap PCBs between instrument panels of the same type?
There is a stong suspicion that the wiring to my EML has been bridged to the battery light - but that any reason to do this (by a previous owner I hasten to add) has been fixed. No codes are shown on "My Naff Code Reader" other than the EML light itself.
I've got spare identical instrument panel but its showing a higher mileage than the one in the car. So, rather than wait for another 7000 miles for my car to catch up with the other panel - I was wondering if the circuit board and clock compenents could be separated and swapped over.
I haven't actually removed my instrument panel for a look as yet, but accept that I should probably do that before I go much further - but just wanted to get views from anyone who has maybe been there before.

while i think it can be done, might be easier to 'clock' the replacement dash

Agreed, but I know the mileage can be wound forward electrically on an Omega, it cant be wound back as the cars mileometer still increments going backwards and the speedo still works.
So, if there is any advise on how to "adjust" the mileage then i would be gratefully received either here or via PM :y

The led type display of the Astra G can certainly be 'corrected' with Tech II. I'd be surprised if the mechanical Omega type can though ..... :-/ :-/
SWMBO's petrol Astra responded with my 'Cheapo Tech II' but my Crappy diesel won't for some reason.
I wonder if they'll 'talk' to SWMBO's Astra at all when they take it away for scrap :-/ I clocked it by a single mile .... just to see if I could ::) ::) ::) ;)

Omega cannot have mileage adjustment done electronically*/tech2
* Short of sending it sufficient speed pulses to go over 999,999 miles (no idea if it will go to zero, or fail)

If the Odometer is mechanical, then it has to be dismantled to turn the digits around to get to the correct mileage - a real pain in the arse to do.
If the odometer is electronic, then it CAN be reset by plugging it in to a mileage correction tool. I can offer this service on many vehicles, but have never yet tried an Omega. If you can post or email a clear photo of the front / back and any labels of the instrument cluster along with vehicle details, I`ll see what is involved and if my machine can handle it.

Not sure about the Miggy but most mechanical ones I’ve corrected can be done by slightly and gently prising each wheel apart then adjusting the desired wheel before locking back in place.
