Yes i have a 'special' tool.
I used it to replace the gearbox fluid in JamesV6's manual 2.5.
Its acutally a garden weed sprayer thing, but it works well.

I got one of those off Machine Mart in preparation for an ATF change. I also got the gaskets from Vx at the time. Both are sitting on a shelf. On the plus side, I used the syringe once when I had to deal with a blocked bathroom sink...

Well I Think Thats a plus vote ;D Does look a useful tool, would have been very handy when my scuttle drain blocked.

Yes I have one of those, use it for syphoning various fluids and the most recent use was getting water into the Xmas tree stand ;D
Unfortunately I won't be at the cambelt party either due to new job commitments :(
-
I have one, and can bring it to the cam belt party if you like.
It was useful for topping up the diff oil.

Presume this is to get the fluid out before dropping the large pan?
Don't forget that the front pan will also contain ATF and you can only drain that by dropping it, however, it's not that big and in reality there isn't any 'easy' way to completely change the fluid.
If you don't drop the front pan then you won't run the risk of finding bits of washer in there.... ::) ;D .....you'll just find out later....!

More for the refilling really, no other way in!

TB's killaspray might be a quicker way...
