Title: Seized Door Lock
Post by: cmeonthemove on 30 October 2009, 18:23:33
My drivers door lock has been playing up for a few days - I thought maybe the solenoid needs greasing or replacing, however tonight the door lock seized completely so I cannot unlock the drivers door to open it, so had to climb across from passenger side to get in and out.  :(

The pin is stuck down and I cannot unlock the drivers door with the fob, key or interior handle (or combination of any) so how do I get the door open to get the card off??   :-?

Is this likely to just be the solenoid or am I looking at a new c/l motor?

you can get the cover off but you are going to have to reglue the top plastic locater back on when you are dun, remove the arm rest and screws at top, with a gentle pull on the left hand side pull (gentle) should come off leving the black plastic locater on the door, now push seat back to give you more room, pull the plastic liner off the top right hand cornner, there you are at the lock should be able to fix lock then, after you open the door ( off the car) fix the plastic locator back on an leve to dry until is ready to go back on. had to do it before when the lock pin froz up in winter.

Thanks for that. I eventually managed to free the lock up after a bit of jiggling about so when it stops raining I'll get the door card off and have a peek at the motor and solenoid.
