How do i switch my lights for driving in europe? I have Projectors and HID's and im sure that i read they dont need headlamp converters as there is a switch....

Open bonnet ::) Remove headlight rubber protective cover then
Left-hand headlamp = Move lever
upwards
Right-hand headlamp = Move lever
downwards

As said above.. with practice only takes a couple of minutes :)
As a frequent visitor to France I've got it down to a pretty fine art, and do the change at the port while waiting for the ferry.
I have moved the battery back as far as it will go just to give a tad more room on that side ...I would advise removing any rings/watches/bracelets as there is little room and things can catch.
It is fiddly rather than difficult.... DON'T drop the rubber cover ... it'll get stuck somewhere bloody difficult to reach !!!
Lastly be VERY gentle as you move the lever .. it takes no more than light finger pressure to move, and it moves VERTICALLY .. if you exert too much sideways pressure you risk snapping the internal plastic bits ... and that will be a new light needed. :(

not really relevant, but to clarify, this does NOT convert to lhd, just puts lights in a low 'neutral' position

Just to elaborate on TB's comment .... standard UK lights cast a pattern
\__ \__ on dip .. the "kick-out" being intended to light the nearside without blinding on coming drivers .. obviously when driving on the "wrong" side of the road it is this "kick-out" that causes the problem. moving the lever to the "other" positions makes the beam
____ ____, if you actually saw a LHD miggy it would have a beam of
__/ __/ they can also adjust theirs to ____ ____ for driving over here .. :)

Thats right mine is ___/ ___/ being a LHD (although one of my lights is a bit wonky) ;D. If you do ever remove a headlamp you can clearly see the mechansim moving inside the lamp to give the flattening effect.
