welcome to the forum. It should say 'CD Safe' on the display. Been a while since it happend to me.

Press hold CD,
Switch on CCRT700 with OI key, keep CD pressed until confirmation beep.
The display shows CD-Code for 3 secs
Then CDC Code ---- (10)
Enter Code

Confirm "OK" by pressing the muti-function control.
Put the location of where you are, that way any problems in the future someone local might give you had :y

You need to post this request in the "Electrical and audio help" section, get a better response from those in the know there.

Radio model number is needed as well as an accurate description of exactly what the display is saying

there is a very big difference between CD-SAFE and CDC-SAFE

hi dave
not sure of the exact model number of radio but has the built in phone, (if that helps).
when radio is switched on "normally", then cd is selected the screen shows a small cd on the line above the bottom line towards the left hand side, underneath is a 2.  more to the centre of the botton line is CD-SAFE. If I press the "cd select" button and "on" together the screen shows CD-CODE, but the radio does not beep if the cd button is held in at this point and I cannot enter the code :(
any thought I would be greatful.

at no point has the screen shown CDC-SAFE

Coincidently I've just done this today with mine .... Wayne made me disconnect mine  ::)  ::) so it showed up CD safe.
Turn ignition ON (that's where I was struggling   :-?  ::) )
Turn radio OFF
Press & hold CD, then turn radio ON while holding CD button for .... about 3 secs
Enter code using phone/station keypad
Acknowledge OK by pressing the big volume/etc button

I don't like Ferraris ......

Nope, I can honestly say with absolute certainty that I HATE the 430 Scuderia, and would never ever recommend that anyone goes near one. Its in my top two of worst cars ever.

Still trying to decide what next and using an old Subaru Forester at the moment as a hack around the mud and floods

Never say never  !!

Amazing how many who win the lottery mistakenly buy a Ferrari amongst the top 5 purchases !

all I`m saying is that the £1 lucky dip aint worth the hassle - three numbers could buy you an Omega and much more fun !!

Is it the correct version of CDC2 for the head unit?  Have you used the CD changer previously, or only just fitted it / never used it ?

Are you keeping the CD button pressed for long enough to get the 'beep' after you've turned the unit on?

This is verbatum from the radio manual ....  :y  :y  :y
When the CD changer is connected to the radio, the display shows "CD-SAFE" as soon as you select CD mode with the CD key.
Switch on ignition.
Switch off the CCRT 700 with the OI key.
Press & hold CD key.
Switch on the CCRT 700, keep the CD key pressed untill you hear a confirmation beep.
The display shows "CD-CODE" for approx 3 seconds.
Then "CDC code:" and the number of remaining attempts appear, for example "---- <10>"
Enter CD changer code number with the number keys.
Confirm "OK" by pressing the multi-functional control.

hi again dave
thanks for that
tried that as my son thought that was the way to do it. I have held the button for over 30 sec NO beep and no change to screen just continues to show CD-CODE does not change to show ----<10>  <9 8 etc> .  I have tried putting in the code regardless and pressing the vol button in and holding it for atleast 15 sec, but still nowt. The only thing I can think of now is to leave the radio on for a long period without touching any buttons incase it needs to re set on a time ie 30 or 60 min, unfortunatly the mot has run out so going for a drive for over an hour is out of the question and i dont fancy leaving the car ignition on with keys in on my drive
thanks once again will let you know how I get on

I think at this stage I would consider to remove the head unit and unplug the changer at the rear for 30 mins, then try again

OK, a variation on the theme....

I have the CCR2006 installed but have a similar problem - "CDC SAFE" is displayed when I press the CD key. This message appears nowhere in the audio manual. I've tried the solution mentioned but no joy. Holding the CD key down then switching on gives no bleep. After a while it returns to the radio. The radio coding works fine. Any ideas for the CD player?

BTW, just checked the 'Car Pass' and there is no type/code listed for the CD Changer, only the radio. So even if I can get the unit to allow CD code entry, I guess I'm stuffed?

Is there not something about if you put in the wrong code 3 times, it locks out for 5, 10 or 20mins ?.

CDC-SAFE is an error message which denotes a software failure of the CCR2006 - the changer does not actually have a code, even though it appears to be asking for one.

We can certainly fix that fault for you
