Post by: RainerU on 16 December 2009, 18:19:10
Hi

Im a new user on this site from Estonia, so please take it easy on me  ;D Let's move to the problem. I have a Omega V6 1994 and i took off the battery and but it back, after that the display shows a big F__L and it wont start at all.
Before the battery change everything was very good. The original keys don't work, it has a new alarm but factory immo at least i think so  :( Can anybody help me how to turn of immo? Sorry for the confusing text ::)

I don`t know if this applies to the Omega or not, but a "common" way to resync most keys of various manufacturers is as follows

1. Switch on ignition but don’t start engine : the vehicle will then stay in synchronizing mode for 30 seconds
2. Briefly press the lock or unlock button on the remote control with the key still in the ignition
3. The central locking will now lock then unlock to show the remote control is now synchronized
4. remove key exit car close doors and try to lock the car with the key fob electrically.

Worth a try, but if it doesn`t work, you may need a specific set of instructions for the Omega

That does work for the later cars, but not the early IR types afaik.
