Possibly the switch in the fob for the boot ... does the little red light flash when you press the boot button ??? (assuming yours has the LED of course)

It might need to go to Martin Imber for a refurb .. he does a brilliant job, and I'm about to send him one if mine ... again ....  :)

I suppose it could also be the car side if more than one fob is doing the same ...  :(

I don't know how the signal from the fob gets to the boot mechanism, but as the dash button works I guess the boot motor is OK. With luck one of the "electronic" wizz kids  ( ie Kevin Woods) will pass by soon and offer thoughts !!

BTW .. Hello and welcome to the forum ..  :y :y :y

Not sure if the F/L Omega has a Boot Lock???????????

If it has, the C/L only works when the Boot Lock is in the Vertical Position.  If it is Horizontal, it wont work.

I'm only basing this info on knowledge of my MK3 Cavalier.

No key access to the boot at all ... totally electronic..... fob or dash button.

There is a manual release if the motor dies, access behind the rear seat.

If the dash button works, that would make me suspect the fob.

Had a daft thought ... have you tried  a "resynch" of the key to the car ??

key in ignition, ignition ON without starting engine... press Lock then unlock on the fobs. Doors should lock/unlock.

Then retry the key as normal ... worth a try even if it doesn't work ..  :)

Does your fob have a third button for the boot release?

I thought Entwood was asking you to press the boot release button on the fob to check if the LED flashed (like it does for the other two).

Check the wires that travel up the passenger side boot hinge for a broken wire

Have you got another fob? Just nice to prove that if that one works I has to be the fault of the other.
