Hey guys, any idea where the remote wire for an amp is ment to go on a headunit?
It goes on the REM teminal.
Let us know what head unit you are referring to and I will try to be a bit more specific

Most OEM head units (and also aftermarket head units without RCA connections) do not have an REM output, in which case, use the Antenna feed output, which if you measure it with a meter will switch +12V as the stereo is switched on.
Aftermarket stereos can often have two switched +12V outputs, one for the antenna that only goes live when the radio is on, and one that is a dedicated REMote output to drive an external amplifier.
Always worth checking with a meter, but conventionally, most aftermarket manufacturers have used a BLUE wire for this.
If the head unit does not have an antenna or REM output, as is the norm with many el-cheapo head units, then it is possible to get an amp that is "Self-Sensing" to switch itself on whenever an audio signal is introduced to its input terminals.

cheers dave think i hav got it sorted now... found a manual on the net for my headunit (JVC KD-PRD61) i used the bluw/white wire which i also found was bieng used to power the preamp already in omega as after i cut it i had no sound haha
