Can anyone tell me if i get another ecu do the numbers have to be the same as the old one i have now. Thanks
-
What year? If 94/95, no need to worry about immobiliser. If 96 on, immboliser is more intelligent, so can't just swap ecu
-
No its a 1998.Was talking to someone who said that had a vectra that sounded abit like what mine does now and said it was the ecu at fault and told me to try a new ecu first before stripping the engine apart so at the mo i dont know what to do about the dam car lol

Siemens GM 90 565 947, date build 09.03.98/3, dont know if that helps.

It is exceedingly rare for these ECUs to fail, so that would be the last place I would look. I live data on it may give clues, rather than the heresay put about by mechanics who haven't kept up, and always assume its an ecu
