a rear door and the boot are not opening although the fobs working ok. door wont open either in or out, the boot wont even open with the key. the battery was removed for a couple of days. any ideas to what may have happened.
-
Is it lazy/sticking solenoids?
-
did you take off the battery proper, neg first, then live red wire, then leave car for 20 min. before doing any thing?
-
i would say no,as the fob is activating the catch. another thought is there a child lock thats preventing the door opening ? :-/ :y

that only stops the door from being open from inside.

i think i took the battery off ok. i locked it overnight via key. opened the boot a.m ok with key. when i closed the boot i did hear a sound of a lock activating (i think) and the door & boot are the only ones actually shut at the time. i,m baffled :'( :y
-
the back doors some times dont like to be locked by pushing the knobs down, before you put battery on did you open all doors?
-
if you mean ajar , no ,i never knew that i had to before replacing the battery. the rear door & boot was all that were actually shut. the other rear & both front doors were ajar. i hope and i welcome any ideas as i,m completely lost. :'( :y

disconect battery again leving all doors un locked and see if it resets it self.
-
Isn't there some way of resetting the locks like you can with the sunroof?
I'm assuming you have total closure, so I'm assuming there can be a way!
-
no sun roof is only one as windows, but some times the central locking can get confused if the door on half are locked and others are open so thinks there is a fault.

There is no reset procedure for central locking, but thats not to say the system cannot get confused or stuck
Try turning the key in the drivers door few times, and lock/unlock a few times --
Do any doors operate with the central locking, and do the rears kick in after a few goes - if not try pulling the rear door lock plungers upwards and try again.

yes everything is working ok except boot and one rear door - though the catch is fully lifting via fob . i,ll try all suggestions. thanks :y :y

OK, now try turing the key in the boot to make sure it is not deadlocked and repeat the above procedure
The door that is not working sounds like you may have a stuck solenoid or lock - a bit of WD40 and some jiggling of the plunger may assist

The boot locks don't actually deadlock, but you can select whether you want it to lock with the central locking or not. The lock can be horizontal or vertical, can't remember now which is which & I'm at work so can't look in the handbook ;)

Thats kind of where I was hoping to go with this

did the manual lock - unlock & now halfway there. door now opens, but no success regards the boot. the wife has remarked that its stuck a few times lately. Is there a way of opening it via crawling into the boot. my theory is the mechanism is kaput
-
the boot lock on mine when it got stuck was cos it had never been used with the key and you know the extra bit you need to turn was were the lock was getting stuck, so locked and unlocked a few time's with some wd40 until it worked proper now putsome wd40 in all locks and give them a try ev-now and then to make sure tey work. :y
