Title: Omega friendly garages
Post by: chrisr on 13 February 2008, 18:12:43
Any chance of a list of garages across the country good enough to work on our Omegas? I know it's better to do it yourself but sometimes it's too scary/timeconsuming/backbreaking!

A very good idea!

Unfortunately not everyone is keen...

Its certainly being considered but posting does have some less practical aspects such as mates rates, post bumping as well as simple untruths/boasts by competition/friends.....

Might be better discussing face to face, as it were, on the 23rd as there seems to be a fairish spread of regulars attending.   :y

It's an awkward thing. I've verbally recommended places to people in the past only for mates to have bad experiences there. I think we would have to require more than one or two recommendations to ensure consistent good service, but maybe we should have an area listing people who are unanimously recommended here (WIM, etc...).

i like the idea and agree with the other thread that it can end up as a slaging off if you have a bad experiance.

as an idea, couldnt you list the garage used and do a feedback thing simular to ebay but you give them a star rating of 1 to 5, 1 being bad and 5 great service.

its hard to know these days which garages to trust and which ones not. its a minefield trying to find one!

We are actively discussing a way to have some kind of system for those members who sell items/services here.  Whether we extend that will wait until after we (if!) implement this first phase.

Trouble is, its open to abuse.
