Only very recently here I read of a quick way of resetting the clock after the battery has been off the car for a while. It was something to do with selecting a particular radio station then pressing and holding a couple of buttons.
But can I find that thread? Can I f***!!
Anyone?

I do it by tuning to Radio 1 or radio 2 ... after a minute or two the small clock icon should light up on the display ... should then be at correct time ... dont know about holding any buttons :y

Classic FM is alledgely the quickest, as they supposedly retransmit the time more frequently
(assuming that its a post 1998 model, with factory fit radio (except NCDC range - they sync their time with the GPS satelites))

I can tolerate R1 virtually all the time. Except breakfast, when that idiot Moyles is on.

The standard RDS spec describes transmission of the clock signal once every minute but, beware, as its an optional codeing so many non-bbc stations dont bother

Not sure all BBC stations are that frequent? :-/
R4 or Classic FM certainly appear the fastest though :y

Terry Wogan was always slow to do the needful for me....

Guess it also depends on the radio being able to decode the message without corruption at that particular moment its transmitted...

After a short while driving it around it did it all on it's own (and that was listening to Virgin! - My wife won't listen to anything else). Didn't spot when it did it - one minute it showed 1st Jan 1987, the next minute it was right.
