Trunking that holds blower motor is attached to pass. side inner bulkhead behind glovebox, so it`s glovebox out, three screws to remove blower motor, bloody awkward but doable

As above glovebox out.  You will need to remove plastic tray that holds all the electrical cables (cut off all the insulating tape firtst) in order to get the blower unit out.  I seem to remember 4 screws with the top 2 being really awkward to get out (and put back)  When I replaced the plastic tray I tie wrapped the cabling to it!!  Good luck.

I think that Kent Guy may have to replace the trunking that holds the resister pack ( Hedgehog)  Is this doable at the same time as the motor or is there more dismanteling to do. Hope this helps Vince

Following My last post on this subject would a faulty resister pack cause discharge of the battery even when the blower is switched off.

Most common cause of this is a failed/failing power sounder battery...

The problem with the battery drain is cured with the blower motor fuse removed so assumed it might be the resister pack.

What makes you suspect the resistor. Could it not be the actual blower motor :question

Have you got a speed selector switch (and straight forward resistors) or climate control and an electronic speed controller?

I'm thinking that with resistors that off means off but with the electronic gubbins a fault could draw power when the car was unattended.

It has climate control.I fitted a new Hedgehog because blower would not stop even with ignition off. The blower had made a minor noise now and again before I changed the Hedgehog .With new Hedgehog ran OK for a while then blower started making a lot of noise.and battery drained even with ignition off, only way to cure drain was remove blower fuse. Not sure now where to look.

Sounds like the blower motor
