I'm currently removing the old drivers door loom from the red 2001 facelift 3.2 ex police as I'm adding a new drivers door loom to enable the operation of the rear electric windows.
I've unplugged everything, but I can't get the bloody connector thing to come out...the circular bit that connects the door loom to the supply from the car. That is a very poor description, but it's at the front of the door by the wing. I've tried just pulling it, twisting it...but it won't move.
Does anyone know how I can get it out?

Never had to do it but I would assume (from the look of it) that the ring unscrews and it pulls apart :-/ :-/

I thought so too Paul ;D
The loom from the car came away easily, it's just the door loom doesn't wanna budge.
From now on, I'm only going to buy normal coloured Omega's...and just fit new doors instead :D

Do you mean where the socket it attached to the door Josh? I.E. how do you take it out?

;D in 20 words Lee you described exactly what I was asking much better.
Yeah the circular bit, the start of the loom in the door. I've tried pulling it, and twisting but it doesn't move.

Get your hand in the speaker hole and put some pressure on the loom from inside the door towards the A post. Look in the other side and you'll see 3 small tabs (approx 1 o'clock, 5 o'clock and 10 o'clock) carefully and 1 at a time push the tab towards the centre of the plug with a small electrical screwdriver. You'll feel each one give as it releases. Once free the entire door loom with pass through the hole. Reverse to re-fit ;)
EDIT: Make sure you route the entire loom around the inside of the front window runner or it will cause you problems when the window comes down ;)

Mmm not quite, I now understand how to do it, but just can't seem to actually do it.
It's the metal upright that seems to be in the way and can't seem to get good enough access.

If you free the plug so it's out about 1/4" you can slide the whole loom up from the speaker hole to the hole above, there is slightly more room just below the top hole to feed the loom through. You can take the slide rail out but it's a complete C!*T to get back in again so I wouldn't recommend it.
