Anyone know if there's a Vx loom/plug available to connect into when wiring the 12N socket from the towbar?
Or is it a case of using Scothlok-type connectors behind the N/S/R light unit?
Oh, it's my '99 mini-facelift estate that this concerns.
TIA.

There's a plug behind the plastic rear face in a saloon boot .. but no idea about an estate .. :(

If you have a box of Scotchlocks ..... bin them! Solder your connetions. :y

Estate Vx plug is in the rear of the spare tyre well, left hand side :y

You haven't got the loom that uses the original socket in the boot though, it's like mine & plugs onto the loom around the tail lights. :y

Just solder the connections :y :y

This little plug in the spare wheel well of the estate.........Can you just trace which wire goes to indicators, brake, and sidelight on that plug, and just solder the 7 core wires on to it???
would make fitting an awful lot tidier for me when I fit one!

be aware though, that the brake light is wired via a relay base behind the glove box on facelift cars/above the driver's feet prefacelift cars, for the 'trailer check control' So you either take the feed directly from the stop lamp or bridge the terminals of the base or buy the check relay which will extend your brake light check to your trailer when connected to your car. IIRC £16 from the dealer ... the part number is on the site if you look hard enough :y

Thanks Andy,
I owe you one!

You will have to get a solid state relay to fool the lamp check. Readly available at the towbar suppliers.
Had one fitted last year, no prob at all. Not expensive either. :y

No you don't! :-? ;)
I guess that your towbar supplier told you so, & he just happened to sell them ::) ::) ::) The Omega electrics aren't clever enough to need these types of relay ;)

May be you don't have to.
I did, as I had problems with the lamp test. The caravan was affecting it and my trailer too.
Easier to fit it than take the risk, ;) and it cured the problem.

What risk? There was another problem then that's being masked by the relays. As said an Omega doesn't need to use them.

Maybe your right, as I have just posted a few electrical problems, this evening, that I'm having. :'(
