... Well my CCR 2006 has blown up! so its time to source another one, if any one has a working one with the code let me know :D - Or I could source an after market one with the MP3 options, but the steering wheel controls won't work and I would have a massive gap as the after market one is smaller than the original. I have seen the tray surrounds in X police cars so they must be available if I was to use the after market one.
Also the wiring for an after market one, what modifications would have to be done to the wiring? It's not like my old Rover, the Omega is more modern lol.
Advise....

halfords do a kit to make aftermarket cd players fit.....new corsa are the same...i just got one for my omega and the box said....omega/corsa..plus they do the stalk wires too so the wheel vol ect ect works
hope this helps if you have no luck with your's

p.s. my ripspeed went in no problen with the wire plug...sony are the same as vauxhall plug in and go

As has been mentioned, Halfrauds had all the bits required for DIN E sized stereo. I fitted a Sony into a new fascia. Added an extra adapter for steering wheel controls and it's been no bother. Because the Omega has good acoustics, if you went for a Bluetoooth headunit handsfree type, the mic picks up conversation no problem. It's personal choice but I coulcn't wait to get rid of the standard crate in my dashboard! :y

do you have Bose speakers or normal fit?
-
Whats wrong with your stereo?
:-?

The plug that goes in to the back of the original stereo seems quite big and chunky but if Sony ones fit from Halfrauds lol then an after market one maybe better for me, ideally one with a USB doo dar as I have 6GB of MP3's :D. Not to bothered about the steering controls working but that would be nice. Also would require the fascia.
What price are we talking for a Sony? A replacement one for mine (original) is £155 second hand, so If all the Sony gear costs £200 I would consider the after market one. Would be nice if it had sat nav built in as I have a big hole :D lol.
The speakers are standard I think, its not bose, it is a good sound system though.
