Title: Aftermarket headuint, amp and subs...
Post by: Xplicit 2.0 on 10 March 2010, 16:14:50
Sorry if this is the wrong section but i thought i could get away with it as this lot is in my omega :P :P

Ok, not sure who remembers me having a small issue with this before (DND-Dave solved it straight away last time - bad earth) but i have a new issue with this lot now... as far as me and 3 others can see, nothing is out of place. no wires have been moved etc etc but i am getting no output from my subs apart from one of them buzzing.

The amp is all lit up and fine, the RCA's are in at both ends and so is the remote wire.
Earth not been touched, nor the live. The only thing that has happened recently was i un-wired 1 of the subs so i had a bit more room to sort out the boot lid i changed at the weekend.

Any ideas?  :-? :-?

Are you sure that you have wired them back into the correct location on the amp?

Assuming you are using them in bridged mode on teh sub, using the wrong +ve / -ve terminals woudl cause a similar fault.

Also check the amp switches for sub operation have not been disturbed?

 :-?

checked all switches... they are as they were... not using bridged as i  hav 2 12" subs so 1 on each channel... as for when i removed the sub, the wires were removed from the sub side, not the amp side... that shouldn't stop output though, just sound different as speakers will work both ways (as far as im aware... i may well be wrong though)

In that case, re-check the earth on the amp again

You didn't by any chance turn music on and allow the wires to the sub to short together while they were disconnected? (Even by accident with out you knowing they were moving around in the boot)

This could have caused the output to the AMP to get fried :-(
