Title: Auxillary Water Pump

Hiya all

I think my auxillary water pump is at fault for my heating issues as when i bypassed it the heating was luke warm. Im putting that down to the water passing through the matrix to quick due to no flow control.
NOW
When i had the pump out i wired her up to a supply and SURPRISE SURPRISE the pump doesnt work.
Would this be the issue if im right in thinking?

In my experience the pump makes no difference to the heating. It only allows "residual heat" from the engine to be used when the car is parked.

I removed mine entirely when I went to LPG and noticed no difference in heater performance.

Also, you can't have too much flow through a heater matrix. I would suggest, if performance of the heater is poor, that you have either a partially blocked heater matrix or the heater bypass valve is defective.

Worth getting some cooling system flush, running that through the cooling system and then refilling with a correct antifreeze mixture if it hasn't been done recently. Consider popping off the heater matrix connections at the bulkhead and reverse flushing it with a garden hose too. :y

Behind passenger bank of cylinders.

pull the vac pipe off it, see if that improves heater - seen a couple now where the vac is always present!
