When listening to CD's the music cuts in/out intermitantly. I thought at first I need to get a lens cleaner, but I've noticed that it usually happens if:
A) I accelerate
B) Brake
C) Use indicators/wipers
It's not always on every trip or every time, but when it feels like it. :-?
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Do you have BOSE ?
Does it happen on Radio?
Does the cartridge look like its sitting "level" in the slot ?

Sorry, yes it has BOSE. Its in my 2000 elite.
The cartridge is level, as far as I can tell and no it doesn't happen on the radio, just the CD.

Genuine Discs? Not Recordables ?
Do you get an audible "click" when indicators or wipers or headlights flashed?
Does CD counter still "count" when audio stopped? Does music start from where it stopped, or does the cd keep playing at the correct speed, just no audio?

It happens with original & recordable discs.
Can't say I've heard any clicks, the music just stops. Sometimes, the music has "paused" others it's continued, as when it comes back on, the song is further on.
Ref the counter, I've not checked, sorry.

OK, firstly, stop using the recordable discs, the unit is not compatable with them and they will be damaging the laser.
Which incidentally is what I fear may be happening, and that the sound is stopping as the laser is now struggling to read the disc.
As this is only happening on CD, not radio, the other influences such as lights and wipers can be deemed as coincidental.

Thanks Dave,
will fill the cartridge with genuine discs and see how it goes!
Cheers.
