Hi, Has any one been able to put a decent leccy Ariel on to a facelift saloon? If so where did you site it. Cheers..The reason I ask is because I think there is one in the rear window and its pants, I keep losing the station...

Best option is to either replace or install a beesting style aerial where the phone aerial usually goes towards the rear of the roof.

Hello Dave, there is already an aerial at the rear of the roof, I presume its for a phone. So if I replace it with a bee sting, will it come with the same type of cable to run the radio.

If you are not using tehphone aerial, then replace with ordinary beesting, but if you are using the phone, then look for a combined GSM/FM beesting.
Would`nt run the cable back to the radio though, much easier to run it down to the aerial booster (rear shelf) and pick up the connections there.
Have a look at the VW / Audi fitment aerials as I think the screw on Hirschmann style connectors may be the same as the one you are trying to connect to, failing that, let me have aphoto of the aerial plug you have, and I`ll find an adaptor. If you go for the amplified beesting, you should also be able to pick up a live supply from the aerial booster as well.

I fitted a Hirschmann aerial, the style that the Peugeots have ie a two foot long mast, just in front of the sunroof. Not a five minute job but not too hard. Easy enough to run the cable in as well. Now I get superb reception everywhere.

i have 9 on my police omega, but no radio in the vehicle! lol

My radio reception was soddin' useless UNTIL I screwed in a 12" beesting into the telephone aerial.
Don't know exactly why....but can pick up radio stations perfectly now. Perhaps the beesting attracts the signal to the car better and the normal "window aerial" picks it up...I don't know. Just works for me.

Thanks for your reply, a bit late getting back but I have been away, at the mo I have other more pressing issues with fuel problems. I will have another look at this next week, if I get a chance.
