I think it may be a bit more involved than that.

Others will correct me, but I think you need the telematics units, a different display and a whole heap of wiring to be done.

needs a new display, a mic, and a little bit of wiring.

It has the telematics built in (Dave DND - its similar(ish) to ccrt700 with built in cdc3)

Personally, I'd fit a bluetooth kit from likes of Nokia/Parrot etc, and save the hassle.

Knew of the unit, just not sure what other ancilleries were required.

Is it just the NCXX range that also need the stuff in the boot then?

I concurr, fitting an afternarket bluetooth kit such as a parrot or similar would be a shorter and cheaper (if not better) route to mobile telephone kit in a car, plus the fact you don't have to muck around with changing sim cards over if you use a hand held phone too....................

I had a Parrot 3100 fitted in my 2.6CDX last week at a cost of £180. It is a full hands free unit and will sync phonebooks from two different mobiles. The unit on its own is around £90.

I had one in my other 2.2CD for 3 years and it worked perfectly.

Having been very pleased to have a new Parrot fitted in my 2.6, I returned from a week in Amsterdam (working, not smoking!!) to a totally flat battery. The Parrot on my 2.2 switched off when you turned the ignition off, but the new kit the same company fitted is independent of the ignition and switches itself off when I walk away from the car. This worries me as it means that there is a possibility for a battery drain whilst the car is parked.

I am thinking of having the shop rewire the unit to work only on the ignition being on.

Any views?

Doesn`t sound right to me - should have an ignition feed there somewhere?
