Did 250 miles round the M25 and up the A12. Got pretty good consumption if you ask me :)

That's very good going. What was your average speed :question

over the past 3,500 miles, I have averaged 37.2mpg. And used 8mm rubber from rear tyres :(
-
I find that the motorway mileage has never been a problem, as soon as i leave the Motorway, and start driving through the city that is when i find that my Omega drinks like an Irishman on a binge
-
i also managed 32 - 33 on a 1800m trip to south of france in 3.0l MV6 auto ;)

i got 30mpg on a 15 mile run to the scrappy in the 3.0 Auto... the 2.2's are better on fuel, but only by a small amount! :o
-
ive just 41.2 ;D
-
Got 26.1 this week, well happy as last week I got 20.5...

Hmmm, I wonder what I would get out of your Estate ::)
Took MV6 for a blast after you left to check the coolant leak. Oh boy, thats fun [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]. My brand new brakes with nice new fluid went a bit soft ::)
Lots of steam from under bonnet when I parked up, so I guess I'm still searching for a leak >:(

When I picked my omega up, I drove 220 miles home (90% motorway)
Average MPG was 34.6 I think (deffo 34.x anyway)
That was driving at the speed limit most of the time, however I will have lost a bit of fuel by heavy acceleration too the speed limits etc. ;D
I made a BIG mistake the other day... I reset the display when I was stuck in city centre! I forgot to check the display, so dont know what the MPG was then(prob GPM almost!), however when I went across town in the morning I remembered to check just before I got out of the car - 12.x mpg :'(

So do you all zero you mpg on the mid then?
-

Nope, never. I prefer average over many tankfuls.

Well I never zero mine but it doesn't seem to go up loads, the range seems to go up alot especially on the motorway sitting at 85
-
No i never zero mine either, unless it shows me 10MPG, then i re-set ;D ;D ;D
-
averaged 43 on the way to the jock meet but it is a squeazel ;)

I used to have to do colchester 3 times a week...
-
I do a regular North Wales to East Kent trip; 333 miles with a trip average of 37.1 mpg at a M-way cruise of 65/75 mph......highest I`ve (ever) seen on a M-way long-trip is 41.2 mpg driving at 60 mph and being `gentle-footed as an Angel [smiley=engel017.gif] .....Boring! :'(
Being a bit 'sad': I`ve experimented with a variety of tyre pressure changes/combinations to see what effect it has on M-way economy: I have found increasing my Vredstein M & S to 36 psi (F) & 42 PSI (R) often yields 2-3 extra mpg (average) on that long-haul South. :y

56 Mph is the magic figure, aparently thats the one (90Kph) that Manfactures use for the best MPG spec figs of the Car, and the ECU burns lean at that speed.
Tried it once with my MV6 3.0 on a run to Norwich (was having sad day) 56 MPH plus Cruise most of the way, 39.3 MPG, just couldn,t get the bugger to do more than 40MPG.
Tried it again on the next trip, same place in the Meggy Van (2.5TD manual Estate) got 53 MPG, never seen that before and prob never will.

my tractor is best at around 70 - 75mpg, mid/high 50mpg

That's impresive, mine Miggy Van won't do more than 38 MPG at that speed, funny'ly enough I PM'd Omegatoy today about his TD Chip thingy, but understand he won't be back till late march, so guess I'll have to wait unless anyone else has got one lying in a draw somewhere.

I get high 30s mpg at 3 figure speeds. Apparently.

Hopefully not across a field!, by the way my local mechanic (when his sobber) reckons the best thing for BM TD lumbs (appart from oil change) is to almost fill them up with diesel then add 2 gallons of Parafin, he reckons it will clean any crap out, never had the b*ll*cks to do it mine as its used every day for work.
-
for the last few weeks i have been able to get more than 21 mpg on petrol, this has been due to it being in limp mode because of the knock sensor >:(
strangly enough LPG consumption has not suffered, i reckon i was still getting 20mpg
did the run up here today and she was absolutely flying along (it was -7 degrees most of the way) on the mid it is showing as 25.1mpg!!
considering that of the 225 miles 180 of it is all fast A road i don't think that is too bad (my average speed according to MID was 70mph ;D )
-
I`m lucky to get 18 mpg around town and 31 mpg on a good run and thats taking it easy, i think mine needs help?

My Elite estate clocks mid 30's MPG at 85 ish.
weirdest ever is the Sintra, same engine.... but larger frontal area... clocks in about 29-31 at 80-85 clocks 36MPG at 92 ????
WTF???
