Back during Christmas I reported a fault with alarm going off usually during the night around 2am!
It was not the sounder(removed) and even with internal sensors switched off it still happened but a month later after a long trip to Kent and back the alarm started working fine no problems :-?
All has been fine since another long trip on holiday at which point we arrived home and the alarm started going off again but this time within a minute of locking car.
Further to this about 2 weeks ago the driver lock solenoid won't work on central locking and has to now be done manually, but the alarm does not false alarm.
Could these be related? because so far nothing at all seems to of been the reason for the alarm fault

Unplug your bonnet switch and see if it goes off again :y

been there done all that, not any of the catches or sensors.
Only seems to relate to long trips

Beat me to it, I was going to suggest that also

Ok, you need to get a diagnostic test done on the alarm system then to see what is triggering it, as you have tried the obvious/usual culprits already

As stated then, you need the alarm codes read off then to pinpoint the fault. If ever you get my way (Dudley) then I could do it for you. :y

I'm taking it that these codes only come up on a proper tester? not the pedal trick?

Yes, pedal trick only shows engine codes.
