hi do all preface lift NON bose cars have the loop back plug fitted ?
-
I believe so.
TB Should be able to confirm.
If not then I should imagine that any fitted with a boot mounted cd changer would have the loop back fitted
-
No, not all.
Ones with CD Changers yes, but GLS/CD models are unlikely to have it.
My '98 car dosn't have it.

-

Yes, I did this to an R reg MV6 retail once - a very easy upgrade to do - if thats what your plan is.
-
just to clear things up i want to remove the bose from my car . i have acess to a 98 retail mv6 NON bose car so i am hoping to find a loop back plug on that
-
Thats a slightly different scenario then.
If you are going to leave it with the CD Changer working then you will need the non Bose CD changer loom from that car as the Bose loom also contains the CD Changer loom.
That non Bose loom will also contain the loop-backs for the speakers.
You will only need the loop back plug if you want to leave them with a radio only - i.e. no CD Changer.
Hope that makes sense.
-
i am going to do away with the standard changer anyway is it worth removing the bose lome ( if poss )
-
Yes, as you can sell it as part of a Bose kit ....... But you will need the loopback plug otherwise you wont get any sound from the speakers in the doors.
-
right i have found the loop back plug but what are the other wires comming off of the plug for and do i need them ?
-
If it's off a prefacelift the extra wires will be for the autochanger in the boot. I just cut them and insulated them with heat shrink tubing as I couldn't see how to remove the pins from the plug.
