Title: CCRT 700 unit with CD changer - Mp3 connectivity
Post by: cdxv6blueomega on 17 May 2010, 16:46:51
Sorry if this has been done to death but is it possible to add an MP3 player to the above unit (it has no aux socket unfortunately) and use the existing steering wheel controls on the CDX ?

I think I read on the web there's a gizmo which plugs in somewhere and connects via the CD changer so you can still use the CD as well as the MP3 player.

I know about the Cassette adaptor/FM tuning options but also read they are a little flaky ? Could anyone comment please  :y?

Yes, it has been done to death if you read the previous posts in the forum, and I`m afraid no matter how many times people ask, the answer is still no.

FM modulators don`t have to be flaky if you spend out on a good one though - this is proving to be very popular amongst the oofers

Thanks Dave so where does this gizmo fit and, when installed,  can it be controlled using the steering wheel options for volume +/- ?

BTW my player is a sanza fuze mp3 player not an ipod/iphone just so we're clear ;)

It can be fitted anywhere in the car, and the sound is courtesy of the 3.5mm headphone jack - steering controls of the stereo will operate as normal, as all you are doing is tuning into a radio station
