Title: CCRT2008 "CDC Safe"
Post by: tcs on 25 May 2010, 18:22:50
Hi,

The CDC has packed up again on my CCRT2008, displaying the "CDC Safe" message.  I have had this fixed many years ago and I believe it is a software fault, but there appear to be few service engineers left who know how to fix this. Does anyone know anywhere I can get this sorted please?

Regards.

Sorry, we can no longer fix the CCRT2008 version with this fault - our test equipment for that one died many years ago.

:o - I think it may be possible you can? Can you not apply same fix as to others in the range, then use Tech2 to reprogram back to ccrt?

Hmmm, not actually tried it myself though...  ...probably one that needs testing...

No, the CCRT2008 has a slightly different internal program, its not the pairing thas the problem - its the program running inside the micro on the changer.

We see so few of those now thats its not economical now to invest any more in repairing our broken test rig

Are you based near me (Brackley, Northants)?  If so, I would be willing to take a look, as we may have a solution.

Hi,

Yes, I'm in Dunstable so Brackley's just up the road.  How confident are you in this solution? Have you any means of testing it before trying it for real?

Regards.

TCS, with the possible "solution" that has been discussed, taking a trip to see The Boy with your car is about your only chance of a possible fix, as if this idea fails, then there are not many alternatives left, one of which is the 500 mile round trip to see me, and I`m only going to try the same thing !!

OK, thanks guys.  Looks like a trip to Brackley is on the cards.  Unfortunately it will have to keep for a few months as my weekends are now completely full and I work away from home during the week.

I'll get back to you when things get a little less hectic.

Regards.
