I just had the rear cig lighter out to change the bulb and there is an electric unit there inside the hole whats it for??? thanks

Not really, the main airbag trigger (not usually ecu) from most cars can be found around this area. They are usually sensitive to "heavy shock" and this is the most centralised place in the vehicle to fit them, thus ensuring that they fire evenly for both LHD and RHD cars.

Its not the rear cig lighter socket delay timer is it?, the one that auto shuts down when the cars empty and locked up.

The SRS ecu is mounted just in front of the rear ciggy lighter...

i cannot see numbers etc but there seam's to be 2 units in a row. cannot see properly,would be nice to know what there are for :)
