my problem is this: engine rpm-s dont go ower 3600 rpms and the engine has no power. it drives but bad. the engine light is on. we tried to read fault codes but the diagnostic equipment cant find ECM and spidometer. has anyone had the same problem. sorry for my bad english. :-[

anyone some suggestions? or maybe some wiring instructions how to mesure engine ECU. maybe theres some 12+ missing.

Most garage level diagnostic readers should read it OK, generic ones probably wont

diagnostic equipment was fine. quite expensive. it found centrallocking and abs fine. the guy who diagnosed car thought that some wires are broken.

Does it have the standard head unit in it or a non-standard one. Seen non-standard head units affect diagnostics (same pin on socket).

i`m not using googel because then i don`t understand then what i`m writing and neither do you mates :)googel translate sucks :) but back to the problem. yes i have original head unit. CART 2007 to be exact.

does anyone have some wiring chart. or some info. where to get some?

dose the softwear hav auto find, as if it not find ecu then there could be a fault with the ecu it's self, there is only 2 wires that go to read the ecu one is black and othere depends on wire code when made as they are changed a lot could be white and green or blue and black. hope this helps

Can the diagnostic equipment connect to the head unit (radio) and the instruments (Speedo etc) as these are on the same pin on the diagnostic plug (PIN 7)

it didnt find speedo also. i think we dint tried to access radio. abs, airbags and central locking were ok. it means that equipment found them. maybe theres a fault in daignostic connector.

Yes could be, need to lower the panel and check pin 7 :)

pin 7 was ok. we removed radio and speedometer. still no response from ECM. somethin is blocking signal. i think i need a wiring chart that i can get singnal straight from ECM.

Was the cam sensor on your car changed recently?
Seen the car behave like this when pattern cam sensor behave like this.

No Camshaft sensor on a 2.2DTi, only a Crankshaft sensor.

witch pin in ecu is diagnostic pin? maybe if i cut of the old wire and replace it with new. on end to the ecu and an other to diagnostic connector. then ill get acsess to ecu.

like said black (0.5)wire in for reader but other colours wire was changed so meany times, black is the( - )and the colour wire is( +), from plug changes colour to the unit, there is a plug in the dash but the hole dash needs to come out to get to it as coverd, one found otherday was green with white line, but there has been blue with gray line think they just did not care about the colour code. can find them with meter as there should be no volts or resistance.

black wire is main leads to all, branchers out can check this wire with other units should go to all if not then there would be a break in wire, the (+) is the code wire to read the unit, there is 2 black wires to each unit some together and some seperate gose in unit to others.

ok we mesured in diagnostic connector (i dont remember exactly) one pin was 12v other - the rest of pins were no resistance accsept pin nr 7 there ws resistance with - .hope you understand

sounds like unit failed, no signal getting to it or out so would try another unit, if you get resistance back then the feed signal cannot get to read unit should only 1% resistance as linc signal.

ok but when i remove ecu then there should be no resistanse. iŽl tri this tomorrow. there was resistance about 110 ohms.

looks like a short circuit in the wiring between the plug and the unit, if you take off the battery see what it says then, as you test have some one pull wiring about and see if it gose dead, if dont go dead then its feeding into another unit, you will have to see what other units that are not connecting with, if you had a self feed tester one that works with battery off it is easier to find what is wrong.

You saying all your problems started when the crank sensor was changed?

i think that then this problem started. i dont know exactly. when i take the plug out then the engine works even worse. it was sale with diesel pump failure. but i think that the diesel pump is fine. anyway it would be good to diagnose the car, but i cant.
