Title: Can T.C. (Traction Control) Be Retrofitted
Post by: Simon72 on 28 June 2010, 22:48:27
As per title,

Can T.C. be retrofitted to a 2.2DTi.
I have the ABS system and I presume the TC just uses the ABS sensors to detect the TC condition.

Could it just be a simple matter of fitting a TC Switch and having the Tech2 to enable?

Would be interesting in answers to this to stop me sliding around the Cannock Island in the wet (Bloody lorries dumping there Diesel) ;-)

Short answer...No.
As I understand it the ECU doesn't have the ability to do the traction control stuff.

On the Astra G, you can add the switch, then run the wire back to the relevant connection on the ECU.

This obviously isn't answering your question. lol!

Can't be retro fitted on 2.2 petrol, guessing same applies to the DTi... both don't have the power to warrant it anyway

Yes they do if you drive them right and put bald tyres on, lol ;-)

Cheers for all the replys, just on the subject WHAT is the reason that it can't be retro-fitted, complicated or just too expensive??

ECU fitted not capable  :(

And even on crap tyres (as a certain admin will admit) 2.2's have to be pushed hard to loose traction. Only time i would have wanted it is in the snow, but even then i never got stuck, just pull off in 2nd / 3rd and fill boot full of heavy crap
