Title: locked down stereo

I'm having trouble with my stereo in my 99 16v 2litre cdx ecotec-the problem is as follows-after repeated disconnections(from the battery) and me thinking i had the code right I made the mistake of repeated unlocking attempts-and so the stereo has gone into shutdown-I now have the correct code but the stereo is not playing ball-basically Im wondering if there is a way of reseting it thus allowing another attempt at unlocking it-I have been told that I can have it unlocked at a price but was hoping that someone could help me with this-any ideas and suggestions gratefully recieved-Harey D

What stereo and what does the display say?
